Hey all, hope someone can help me!

I had my PS3 in the kitchen on a Sharp LCD Tv, connected with a HDMI cable. We got a new Sharp LED Tv for the living room so I wanted to move the PS3 to that room.

So I moved it all, connected it and the light on the PS3 (which is normally Blue) has changed to green and it is coming up "No Signal"

Whats the problem and how do I fix it??

    Thanks in advance

Not sure about the green light

However, am guessing you probably need to reset the video settings on the PS3 for the new TC - hence the "No Signal" on the TV.

To do this - power down PS3. If slim, take out power cord, if older then use the switch at the back.

Then reapply power and power up the PS3 by pressing and holding the power button on the PS3 itself until it beeps a second time.

It should now detect the new TV.

I've done that and its still the same - Green light and "No Signal" on the Tv  There is also an orange light flashing beside the USB ports??

Yeah u have to reset the Display settings so just turn on the console then hold down the power button on the front until it compleety shuts down (hold it for about 10 seconds or so).

This happened to me before and i tried this and it worked.
    Hope it helps you.

EDIT: the orange light flashing is just your Hard Drive indicator - it flashes because it's working the hard drive!!

Thanks for your reply, I'm just after trying that and its still not working. "No Signal" still on the TV screen

Well the "No Signal" could be coming up because you or not on the correct channel. For example, my TV has 3 HDMI Ports, and each one corresponds to a different HDMI Channel. Maybe thats the problem

By any chance did this happen just after you downloaded the 3.55 update last night?

Did some googling (handy web page really ;))
    And came across this
    http://blogallalong.com/2008/12/05/ps3-green-light-on-and-system-wont-start/

Looking at the posts it seems to be 1 of 2 problems.
    1. Problem with Graphics or Video out - needs a repair.
    OR
    2. Corrupt firmware on the harddisk

    2 is the most likely.
Look at blog post above. One suggestion is to have the latest firmware update downloaded and on a USB key as you do it so that it grabs the firmware and thus you don't lose all your saves, etc...
Otherwise your faced with losing your data. You can redownload anything you have purchased from the PSN store, but game saves, patches, etc.. will be gone.

Best of luck, and let us know what happens...

Nope - I haven't downloaded any new firmware - no internet just Vodafone Mobile Broadband :(

The PS3 was working no problem on the Sharp TV in the kitchen but when I moved it out to the Living Room it wouldn't come up :(

I have it on HDMI 1 and I've put it on HDMI 1 Channel on the TV, yet still no signal :(:( I haven't got anu other HDMI equipment in the house to test if its the HDMI on the TV thats the problem but its a new TV, shouldn't be it thats wrong, so I assumed it was a setting on the PS3, as it was working perfect on the kitchen TV - playing Christmas CD's on it all morning :rolleyes:

    Sounds like video settings alright.

You can also try having it powered up and then connect the HDMI cable.

Make sure if you are doing the powerhold trick that it has to beep twice, the second beep is what you need !

have you tried on the first TV that it worked on?
If that works again you know it either the TV or the cable.

If it no longer works then you have an issue with the PS3 - it can still be a corrupt harddisk.

When connecting back to the old TV - you may need to reset the video settings. Just remember to keep the button pressed in on power on until you here it beep twice.

Probably a stupid question but is the HDMI in the back of the PS3 correctly? the 360 flashes when the video cable is out

I have two HDMI ports at the back of the TV - one on the side.

It worked when I put the HDMI in the side port - does this mean that the other two are broken or something
    ???

Had you have followed irish_stevo815s' advice in an earlier post,
Well the "No Signal" could be coming up because you or not on the correct channel. For example, my TV has 3 HDMI Ports, and each one corresponds to a different HDMI Channel. Maybe thats the problem

you would have realised that you had another HDMI port and were using the wrong channel.

Pass it off as a blonde moment...brain-fart more like...

    No, nothing is broken....except maybe.....

No I know that each HDMI port has a channel - both when I had it in HDMI port 1, I had it on the corrosponding channel on the TV , same with HDMI 2. So as a last resort I put it into the HDMI port on the side of the TV and changed the channel to HDMI 3 and hey presto it worked, so does it sound like there is something wrong with the other two ports??

    Does sound wrong...
what model number is the TV?

Could be an incompatability with the cable as well. I know it sounds weird and wrong - but I've seen it happen.. Changing cable worked.. While cable worked on another TV.
Well - it probably noise really - but you get the idea.

I'd push back on wherever you got the TV - even bring in your PS3 and your HDMI cable. See if they have another one of the same TV and try it on that...
