Anyone else just want the ice to go?

This cold weather was great at first. Snow everywhere, schools closed, able to sleep in and blame the weather when you were late for work.

But now I just want to be able to walk at a normal speed again.

I was all for the big freeze but I thawed about it last night and now I want the ice to melt.

yep wish it would feck off. Wouldn't mind getting some good snow on Christmas Eve to last up to a week and then feck off again after that.

It's put a real crimp on my social life... It's also completely unaffected my working-life, as I live within easy walking distance of work!!!! How fúcked is that? Can't go out and socialise (as all my friends live a good bit away, requiring driving and my car is snowed into my driveway) but I can still get to work?!?!? Sick shít...

I am hoping for a day of lukewarm rain.
    Had enough of this ****.

Every single morning i wake up wondering i need a hammer and a chisel to get the ice of my car or that i cant find the car at all because it is buried under snow.

    Yes you can.

Just close your eyes, lash it into 1st gear & floor it.

I thought it would be heaven watching people fall on the particularly treacherous strip of pavement below my office window all day but sometimes you can just have too much of a good thing.

I wouldn't mind it so much if I had a car. Was meant to buy one last week but arrived home from a weekend in Amsterdam to this and haven't been able to get out to look at cars. Plus I was looking at a 2 litre rear wheel drive car, so with the ice and the petrol going up I think the world's out to get me.

Ok, I could buy a more sensible car but where's the fun in that?

Along with the ice please take the snow, the dark nights and bring back some heat.

Ah the snow in Ireland is balls. There doesn't even have to be an inch and the place closes down.

Elsewhere in Europe and the US you can get 6 inches in a few hours and still they manage to continue on with life, not a bother, it's dealt with, roads, paths, cleared and off you go again.

Don't really care when I'm in Dublin, 'cause I park my car underground so it never freezes or anything and all the roads I need to use are fine. When I go home to visit, it's a pain in the ass though. Had to dig (well, my dad had to dig) my car out of the driveway twice last weekend and it's always so foggy there and yeah, generally annoying.

I prefer this kind of weather to the non-stop rain anyways.

The children love it, lots of days off school. Think back on how great that was when you were younger. In this rural area, some roads are still lethal. I'm on my fourth day off work but would like to get back tomorrow. Money needs to be made for Christmas.

Yes - elsewhere in Europe & the US where it snows regularly.

The UK has the same problems as us when it snows & a lot of Spain was worse off than we were last year.
