Central Locking/Electrical Problem Due to Snow?Solutions??

    Hey,

My mam's car (06 micra) went a bit mental earlier today. I think when she locked it earlier the electrical switch seems to have gotten stuck, making a ticking sound under the bonnet at the battery.
It is now locked but the key button won't open it. The hazards are kind of lighting up a very small bit along with the "electrical" ticking near the battery, which leads me to believe it's some sort of short in the locking system??
Also when she got out of it earlier the handle on the inside wouldn't work and she had to put the window down and use the outside handle.
Sooo, I can't get in to open the bonnet and have a look/disconnect the battery because there are no key holes, it only opens by button.
Any ideas on getting the car or the bonnet open please???

    Thanks

Sounds like the car battery is dying due to the extreme cold.
Is there some way of getting in to the car through the passenger door using a key manually. There is a plastic cover over the lock.

as above there is a key slot hidden under a plastic cover on the passenger side door.. think it just pops off but if you cant get it off give me a pm.. ill check the manualfor the one here at home!

My car was doing something similar as well as lights coming on as I turned the key in the ignition. Have been told it's the effect of the cold on the car and nothing to worry about.

I was just about to post here about the same issue with my daughters 00 Micra, yesterday morning we had trouble opening the doors as the central locking kept opening and then locking again.
So we used the key to open it and got in the back door. Ive googled it and got nothing. But some help on this would be great. I dont think it's a battery issue as hers was only replaced about 6 mths ago.

Its the cold, Only solution is to park it in an underground or garaged area out of the weather. It will right itself.

This is a regular occurence, mates BMW wouldnt lock drivers side yesterday he drove all the way to the dealers and the door locked upon arrival. Weather will mess with the standard operating temperatures of these parts.
