How long can I store homemade Pasta Sauce in a fridge?

I recently bought a food processor, and last night I made a large amount of pasta sauce from a bunch of veg that I had left over (celery, spring onion, carrot, garlic, etc) that I didn't want to throw out. It's a new resolution I've made for the recession to stop throwing out food.

Anyway, how long can I reasonably store this pasta sauce in the fridge? I've read somewhere that it can be eaten for up to 6 weeks, but this seems a bit much.

    Thanks!

I'd usually leave home made sauces etc in the fridge for a maximum of 3 days. If you want to keep it for longer, freeze it.

    I'd say a week maximum.
    As said, freeze for longer.
