    Hi,

I've managed to get my hands on a Stompa Uno (sold out here in Argos) from source in the UK.

I'm having great difficulty in managing to get it delivered to Kildare. It comes in at about 80Kg but DHL are looking for over 700 Euro based on the dimensions.

Nightline won't touch it. I'm currently wading through the known companies but expect similar answers.

Anyone know of a company other than the usual suspects that I can try?

I've costed van hire and ferry but its prohibitive.

    Cheers.

In the fitness forum people have got stuff from an online shop called powerhouse fitness like heavy weightlifting cages, they might know who the courier was. I got stuff from bulkpowders and I think they used parcelforce it was something like £11 for up to 26kg and the box was massive. Another UK site myprotein do 26kg for something like £6.50.

None of these are couriers obviously but you could even chance emailing them direct and asking what courier they use, posing as a concerned buyer saying you had a bad experience with "courier X" before.

I have gotten several bicycles from the UK via parcelforce.

at 80 kg its a freight item - any freight company will handle it.

DSV in toughers, hales freight, primeline, two way etc etc etc.

No parcel company would touuch it.

Expect to pay about 120 + vat

    Spot on.

I hadn't differentiated between freight and parcel before.

I contacted Hales yesterday and they quoted 160 plus taxes. Very friendly too. Got the exact weight and it closer to 100 Kg and bulky.

    Cheers.
