Dunno about that gun personally, but G&P have a pretty solid name for making good stuff.

I have a G&P m4 variant and love it, thinking of getting a scond one.

Great ROF, solid build and good performer.

Good to hear. I heard though today that you can't import airsoft guns into Ireland anymore.. that they'll be seized by customs. Is that true?

Nope, not entirely true. There is legislation that was passed into law that says you cannot import RIF's (Realistic Imitation Firearms), but it is not being enforced. It's a long enough way away - they have to sort out a retailer licencing system etc first, so once the Airsoft device is under 1j you're fine, and may import away!

Legislation to control imports (via registered means only, e.g. custom orders through retailers) has not been enacted to date.

    Cheers for the replies!
So you're saying Lemming that airsoft guns can imported only through retailers? I want to try order this tonight to get it in for christmas, should I go ahead with it? With a battery and 4000 .2g BBs + shipping it comes to 250 euro. Sounds to me like a fairly decent price. Would I be right? yay or nay lads?

No, what I said was that the law regarding import restriction has not yet been enacted. That means you are free to import yourself.

Remember to add in customs charges on top of all of the above, and you'll be well over 300

300, great.. started off looking at a 90 euro pistol the other day. And here I am. haha, well is it worth it do you think?

I was also looking at this http://www.airsofttacticalsupplies.ie/electricrifles.htm, the M15A4 R.I.S Carbine(first gun on the page). It's a sportsline though, something which I've heard I should stay away from. Are they that poor? Sorry for writing in bold, can't turn it off for some reason...

The Sportsline range is not a particularly well regarded range of models and not CA's finest works. They've no doubt cleaned up their act, so i've no idea what the quality is like of those rolling off the factory floor today. Bit of a gamble in the meantime.

You can't go wrong with a G&P, but they will cost you that bit more. At the end of the day it's up to you as to what you want to spend and what you're happy with aesthetically. There are cheaper alternatives than G&P of course. Shop around.

With the gun from ehobby you'll be looking at roughly €320 between VAT and handling charges.

Oh, and you WILL need to have ehobby perform downgrade work before posting since the model is listed as firing at 350 FPS which is above the Irish legal limit. In short, the price goes up a bit again. I've no idea of what they charge to do such work.

At that price, might be worth having a look closer to home; there are several UK retailers that stock G&P, and some of the Irish stores might be willing to oblige custom orders too if you ask. The only difference will be that it'll cost less to post back should there be any problems.

Known Uk retailers are: Fire-Support, and LandWarrior Airsoft. Airsoft Skirmish do I think, but their website is under redevelopment so you'd need to contact them. Only problem with UK orders is the beating that the euro is taking at the moment on the currency markets.
