Alloy Wheels on cars are being stolen at a high rate at the moment. Our car was left on its jack and spare wheel minus the four alloy wheels and the back window broken.I spoke with the gaurds i asked is it hapening often, i was told 2 in the Jetland shoping centre car park,Old Cratloe rd and 2 more on d city boundry in Co Clare last week.
Anybody else unfortunatly get there wheels stolen recently?

I had lock nuts but they found the socket to remove the nuts.Stupid by me really but if i got a puntcure i needed the socket in the car.I also heard they can brake the lock nuts aswell?

So they broke into your car to get the nut key?!

Oh i'm sure they can break them without it...might slow them down though

I couldnt be sure why but another reason was to drop the handbrake and push the car into a darker area where there was overhanging trees and shrubs.Only pushed it about 10 metres. They also had time to urinate on a wall next to the car.

I lost my lock nut socket and had to get garage to break nuts off. It's not an easy quick job.
It's getting bad when you can't leave your car outside your house.

I had a nice set of 17 inch alloys (RS6 type I think they are called) stolen from a 01 Seat Leon TDi last Friday night. Car was inside in a locked yard of a guy that does some work for me. Approx 2 miles from city centre.

Two chances of ever seeing them again ...

Sorry to hear that aswell, yeah id say we will never see those wheels again. The reason i put this thread up was i reckon its hapening every night of the week in this area at the moment.Question i keep asking who is doing it and where is their customer base? Are the wheels being shiped up the country or to other countries, anyway who knows.

Hmm. Interesting because I called a lot of numbers over the past few days trying to buy some replacement rims for the ones recently busted by our excellent roads. The funny thing was that more than half of those I contacted did not seem to know much about the wheels. Knew nothing about wheel size or pitch and were very vague about the cars from which they were sourced. I got the distinct impression that something fishy was going on.

I have heard a well known car dealer on the Tipperary road had 2 sets of alloys stolen off cars in the yard on tuesday night. Its a new garage so hopefully he has cameras to aid the gardai catch them.

To the last post maybe you cant get your alloys because everyone who has theres stolen are replaceing theirs? Or are you trying to match up a few for your set?

Ba$tards came back and helped themselves to another set of wheels over the weekend, this time a set of genuine alloys off a 02 Astra NJoy.
