    The government has announced:

"Removal of eligibility for student support grants from Recipients of Back to Education Allowance and certain VTOS allowances"

So I wonder will this mean we won't get our grant cheques in January, or will this apply to the next academic year?

people who were already receiving both were allowed keep both

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

That announcement was in the 2010 Budget. We just had the 2011 Budget. Keep up!

Last year's announcement referred to new entrants into college, anyone that had been receiving both continued to do so.

This year's announcement will now affect people that are currently receiving both.
