Just watching it there and sure theres a few tough cuts and that kind of thing, but overall I think its a good budget considering that its tough times were in. All them peoples in the opposition must be wondering what theyll do at this stage.

What they'll do.... is implement the rest of the budget we needed as a result of FF's mishandling of the economy but were too weak to carry out.

Pretty lousy attempt all round I'd say, taxing business even further will cost jobs, not create them, a salary cut here and there won't cut the cost of bad government.

Very noticable that Lenihan doesn't have the balls to announce the actual cuts for welfare etc, he'd rather dance around talking about 2006 levels of this and that and rant about 140% increases since 97.

I think they could of reduced social welfare by a couple of more percent. People on minimum wage might be tempted with the €1 cut to go on the dole.

Right, next person to engage in this sort of personal abuse is getting a ban.

Fianna Fail got us into this disaster.

Then they failed to play hardball with the EU, the IMF,the civil servants, banks, and bondholders, costing us more billions.

Now, they are screwing the soft target - ie the taxpayer.

Our government for the past 15 years has been characterised by 3 core values - greed, gutlessness, and ignorance.

The horrifying thing is that nobody in opposition today is any better. Michael Lowry is an outstanding example of what FG would have been up to if they were in power for the last 15 or so years.

FFand proud - I am making the generous assumption that you are not a troll.

But you have absolutely NOTHING to be proud of.

You are "entitled" to very little on a free, public message board that has rules and regulations to be abided by actually.
But that is neither here nor there.

If you want to express your views without questioning or "harassment" I would suggest starting a blog or something similiar where few are going to be able to disagree with you.

"where few are going to be able to disagree with you...." but many will, and for a long, long, time.

The budget wasn't "great" in the slightest. It failed to adequately tackle public sector wages and pensions. Wages should have been capped at 100,000 not 250,000. The Taoiseach, ministers and TD's pay should have been halved and EXISTING wages, not new entrants wages to the public sector, should have been drastically reduced.

I'm curious about why the OP would be called 'FF and Proud'. I'm very much doubt many FF members could be proud after today let alone the past two years.

Was reading through FF and Proud's post a few days ago. Fascinating. whether he's trolling or not i found difficult to tell tbh.
mind you, i didnt give it the microscope examination, just a quick sweep. as i say, fascinating

(ps, if he is a troll kudos to him on the time and effort of creating the virtual personality- pretty intricate stuff.)
