CalDAV is now enabled on Google Calendar, so that should work for you on the mac and the iPhone.

Alternatively you can use ActiveSync from Google to do your mail and calendar on your iPhone.

Set up a Microsoft Exchange account on your iPhone. This will sync your Mail, Contacts, Calender.

    Email: Your Gmail email address
    Domain: Leave empty
    Username: Your Gmail email address
    Password: Your password

Click next and on next screen:

    Server: m.google.com

Yes, using a supported CalDAV server like Google as above, or using Exchange or MobileMe.

Yes, using a supported CalDAV server like Google as above, or using Exchange or MobileMe.

Currently, iP4/4.2 [new phone] won't actually sync with Outlook 2007 through MobileMe. It should but it won't.

With Outlook 2003 and iP3G there was problems too.

MobileMe syncs from the web calendar and iP4. It syncs the contacts from Outlook 2007/Web/iPhone.
