Anyone here have any experiences with the UCD Vet Dept.

Our Yorkshire Terrier is having serious behaviour issues and our vet recommended we bring her to here as they are supposed to be very good.

Sorry but UCD is a vet hospital where they treat medical conditions so i doubt they will treat a behaviourial issue unless its leading to a medical condition.

I have an appointment for next week with the hospital to take a look at the dogs behaviour. The dog is in excellent health so she wasnt referred for a medical reason. Unless wanting to savage my leg is a medical condition!!!

Did you get referred to UCD for this from your own vet? Afaik you have to be referred to UCD. Whats the problem anyway?

Yes we did. The dog has become very agressive in the last few months. We have tried most things suggested by our vet and local behaviourists but no success. The vet highly recommended the hospital so I was curious as to any experiences people may have had.

Ah right ok, well hopefully they can find something, but id say they will be trying to find something medically wrong as it is a vet hospital as opposed to behaviourists etc.

You more than likely have an appointment with Orla Doherty a specialist vet who does an Animal Behaviour Clinic every week in UCD and regularly lectures around the country on various animal behaviour issues.

Yup, more than likely Orla Doherty, she's brilliant. She's a vet who specialises in animal behaviour, she really knows her stuff! :) She also does clinics in various other locations aroind dublin and wicklow, and maybe even further afield but I'm not sure.
