VDP Food Drive

I'm not sure if a lot of people know about this so I said I'd post about it here and spread awareness and stuff. I'm not involved in the VDP but I think it's a really nice idea.

The VDP are organising a food drive this week in college to help fill their food hampers that are distributed to needy families every year at Christmas. All they're asking for is a donation of pretty much any non-perishable food; tinned stuff, cereal, tea, sweets, etc..... Your donation doesn't have to be expensive, €5 would get a good bit of stuff in Aldi and there's always good offers on in Tesco and Dunnes. Selection boxes can be given too, I think I saw them somewhere last week, 3 for a fiver.

I know times are hard on everybody at the minute but a few euro on beans won't break the bank and will help make a lovely gift for a poor family at this time of year.

They're collecting in the Arts Block and Hamilton Wednesday and Thursday (8th and 9th) between 11 and 4. Here's a link to the Facebook event. :)
