    Hi I own a house jointly since 2005. It was bought with a friend as we were both renting at the time. I am currently organising to build with my girlfriend on my home farm. She has never had a mortgage and therefore never claimed mortgage interest relief. If the mortgage was in both our names would she/we be entitled to her 7 years of mortgage interest relief on half the mortgage?:)
