    Hi guys,

My uncle's 60th birthday is coming up, he is a mechanic and has been into cars all his life.

For his birthday I thought I would get him a large framed photo of some cars he might have had when he was in his 20's. I know he had a Toyota Corolla, I think it was 72' and a Hillman Hunter and a Mark 1 escort and a Capri. Some of his cars can be seen in the pics below.

So does anyone know where I could get some good pics of some of theses cars or do ye thinks its a bit of a crap idea, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Bit of warning, I know someone who went though a lot of trouble to get the same registration plate as his dad's first car (different country of course) and was really excited about his dad seeing it. His Dad had no recollection of the plate, and after he was told that it had been his plate he wasn't all that impressed with it.

Just make sure if you go though the effort that he will appreciate it.

first onbe could be a datsun, second is an early Hillman Avenger and third could be the Avenger again... (the silver car in the background of no3 is a Cortina and the number looks familiar to me....could still be around.

First one is a Toyota Corolla... I know you're really old so you probably weren't able to see the Toyota badge on the grille :p

I dont know much about modern cars....:D

re cortina,no, just the KIO sounds familair....not shown on the database..(looks like a 1600E btw...Irish spec 1600Es are rare and sought after)

First one's a Corolla 30, facelift model, came out in late 1979 iirc, the second one's an Avenger the third one looks like a Vauxhall Chevette or an Opel Kadett, judging by the door card (or maybe an Ascona? the top of the wing is hard to match) and it looks like a mk 2 Cortina 1600E in the backround or maybe just a Mk2 Cortina with spotlamps.

Probably an E based on the all black grille.... (series 2 btw)

KIO794 is Kildare 1969, not listed anymore.
    UIN934 is early 1971 Kerry,also not listed.
The blue car in the wedding shot is 100% a Kadett, the old RWD type.

I got some really good "new" prints of old pictures of a guy on ebay a while back. I'll have a search and see if I can get you a link to it.

They were top class. i got about 10no A4's and 5no A3's from him.
