There's a shop in temple bar, it's between subway and the eager beaver store (and there's a piercing studio next to it) they had lots of thigh high/knee high socks last time I was in there. Also worth checking out Topshop, I got really nice over the knee socks for €11 in there. Asos.com if you're looking to buy online :)

    Tar in stockings? Hawt! :D

Can you be a little more elaborate Tar? SchoolBoys knee socks? Nylon stockings? Thick wolley hiking sturdy Scottish Highland knitted sock things? Something pretty with a bow on them?

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

    Penney's has lots of socks.
Black over the knee ones, two pairs for two euro.

F21 have a lot of them as well. Much more reasonably priced than Topshop too!

Just to pick up on the last comment, Penneys and Forever 21 socks are much lower quality than Topshop, you get what you pay for! Usually i wouldn't dream of paying €11 for socks but the Topshop over the knee ones are perfect, really good quality and comfortable. The Penneys & F21 socks feel/ look cheap (I know because I wasted my money on some from there before finding the ones in Topshop)

I find the ones I have from F21 and Penney's grand, sure they were good value but I don't find them to be particularly bad quality.
They're socks ... It's not always necessary to spend a fortune, especially when there's so many similar styles in various HS stores, with a huge variety in price.

I have a few pairs of socks from Topshop as well. I like 'em all but for some people, somewhere between ten and twenty euro is a bit steep for a pair of socks.

I'd prefer to spend money on good tights, but that's just me.

I wasn't trying to attack your post, I was just saying that the Topshop over the knee socks are much better than the penneys ones.
I am not a Topshop fangirl, I think most of their things (especially jewelery) is incredibly overpriced/not worth the money. For every day socks I buy the 3-for-€1.50 kind from Penneys!
I'm assuming since the OP wants long/over the knee socks they will be wearing them with a skirt or dress so IMO they are just as important as a pair of good quality tights.
Anyways OP good luck finding them. If money isn't an issue maybe go to a few places and have a look at the quality and determine which is the best for you!

I didn't assume you were, it's just slight difference of opinion :)

I wear knee high socks pretty much every day, over tights, to keep warm, so I buy most of them in Penney's because I couldn't afford to buy them at all 11 odd euro a pair.

I got a nice oatmeal coloured pair in Topshop with little heart shaped buttons on the side which rock though! They were worth splashing out for.

Had to have a giggle at this, because Tar's a boy ... or so legend believes and / or doesn't believe :pac:

But yeah, I agree with you there - For dolling yourself up, it's nice to have special occasion stuff.
Sure, I recently spent 42 euro on a pair of tights :o
I wear my Penney's socks under them though :pac:

In summary: OP, check all the high street stores. Penney's have them at very low cost, same with F21 which are reasonable, Topshop have cool ones at a higher price, same with Miss Selfridge, Urban Outfitters etc :)

There is a place in georges street arcade called show co. They do over the knee socks with bows on the back. I wore black ones with mad purple bows over black tights in the cold a few days ago and got lovely compliments! :)

Dee. The shop you were talking about was called AD HOC. Its since closed down :( great little shop for mad bits and pieces and cheap stargazer nail varnishes!!

I would try American apparell for over th knee socks as well as urban outfitters, you might be able to pick up some nices ones in TK Maxx if you are up for a root!

^ Ah what!! I used to love that shop, it was my favorite place to shop in my teenage years during my emo/scene phase. Has anything new opened up or is it just empty now?

I think the piercing place has moved into it. It's closed maybe a year or two at most now. I'd say half of Dublin cried a tear when that place closed. I loved the strangeness of the place :(

naw the piercing place was always there and ad hoc was beside it, think that vintage shop there has taken its place, only noticed ad hoc was gone when passing the other day, was a great shop :(

anyway OP If I were you I'd just raid your daddy's wardrobe.
