Quick query guys - I have an electrc pump in my apartment that sporidically, for say 5 seconds, will come on despite taps/ toilets not being operated. Is this normal? Also - is there any way of making it quieter.

Must be a toilet cistern passing extra water or a drip somewhere. You can make it quiter by putting rubber pads with a bit of cushion in them under the pump;) Works a treat.

Better to fix the reason its happening.

You can check the toilet by looking for leaks into the bowl.
