Complete idiot here, can I get some answers please?

Sup folks,
I've got my hosting..
I really have no idea what the craic is with mySQL and PHP.
I want to use Wordpress as I've heard it's quite user friendly.

How do I go about actually putting a database in place?

Your hosting control panel should have a database control section. You would create the DB there and then point Wordpress to it.

Depending on your host they may have an installation option for Wordpress that would take care of it for you.

Either way, check out your control panel, or contact your host for details.

The details depend on your host, so it's unnecessarily complicated to describe the process without knowing who you are hosted with.

To set up your database initially, you don't have to worry about PHP. One step at a time!;)
