    Hi

My boiler was off Fri when i got home from work. tried reset button but no joy. had oil in tank, maybe not enough. Just got 500 litres oil today, wasn't home when delivered. Boiler still wont start. Do I need to bleed it? how do i do this? there is a tap in bottom left-hand corner which I opened and took about a pint of liquid from. am i opening right place? how much liquid should i expect to need to drain if this is answer to problem?

any help greatly appreciated. pics attached.

Try pressing the red button (reset) it may start up.

ETA The drain valve has nothing to do with the oil, you just released water from the system.

If the burner ran out of oil, it might need to be bled, but most modern burners are self bleeding.
Press the red button, let it run and see if it ignites. If it just cuts out, you need to wait until the timer resets and you'll actually hear a click at the red button. Repeat the procedure a few times and it will gradually pump the oil back into the system. Depending on how far your run from the tank is, it should start after about 3 or 4 tries

thanks guys. it is a new boiler so I suppose it is self bleeding. have tried reseting a few times - sometimes sound like it might be going to start. guess I should continue with this. is there any upper limit on pressing reset/ dont want to do any damage doing it
