Unbelieveably if you're a a grad from any Non Irish University you need to have IELTS qualifications when applying for an internship with the HSE.
Any applicant who did not complete the entirety of their undergraduate medical degree in the Republic of Ireland must provide an IELTS certificate with a minimum standard of 7.5 in each of the four domains on th...e academic test. As you are not completing your undergraduate medical degree in the Republic of Ireland you would be required to submit an IELTS certificate in Part 2 of the application process, should you be successful in Part 1 of the application process.
Therefore UK grads must have to do it too. HSE stupidity knows no bounds, Irish people having to prove they can speak English.
It is not possible to submit an Irish Leaving Certificate in Higher Level English in place of an IELTS certificate. An IELTS certificate with a minimum standard of 7.5 in each of the four domains on the academic test is required.
