    Hi all.
my daughter is looking for an ipod touch for xmas. How do I know whether to buy her the 8gb one or the 32gb one.
What can she expect to be able to store on the 8gb one.?
There's only about €50 in the difference but every cent counts this year :)

I had the same issue with getting my oh an itouch last year

    8 or 32gig

I went with the 32 gig. A 16( shame they dont do them anymore) would have been ideal.

32gigs is really too much for her, she has about 30 albums and a season or two of tv shows.

I went with the larger size with a whole "better to have extra space than to be looking for it" theory.

Saves her trouble of deleting stuff every so often to make space for more videos etc.

If she knows for sure shes getting an ipod (i.e. she knows the story with the fat man OR she's sure he'll deliver one because shes a good girl) , download itunes and add her music to a library. It will give the total size (and length) at the bottom - if she has more than 6 gigs buy the 32gb ipod. A few more albums a video and a few apps would max her out otherwise. This would also save her having to spend christmas morning on the computer before using her new toy.

Apples figures for the amount of songs an ipod can take are usually slightky overstated as the quote using aac instead of mp3 which noone uses (if they download music that is).

Also remember that video eats space much more than music
