Broadband coverage

I'm looking at moving but I need broadband for work. I need ti good enough for a remote connection so I'm told landline is pretty much my only option.

How can I find out what areas actually have landline broadband before I start looking at places there?
I don't have phone numbers for areas and the maps I've seen so far are wrong. (They show broadband in an area I know for sure doesn't have it).
