    heya

dont no if this is in the right section or not.......but anyways, im 31 self employed and completly and utterly sick of and hate where i am in my life, been to my GP and he put me on zispin, been on them for two months now and dont feel any better, if anything i feel worse! i no its down to the feeling of hating what my life has become, im not suicidal or anything, just completly pissed off, no motivation, no desire and no interest, am completly disorganised, went to see a councelor and he told me i wasnt depressed i just need to stop what im doing, he also mentioned i mite have Adult ADD, which would explain a few things, been thinking about just packing it all in as in the job, moving back into my parents house, going off the drink and going back to the 1 thing that made me feel great, training with the plan of fighting again..... so i guess my question to ye all is, is it possible to just pack it in, go back to the start and rebuild my life over the space of lets say a few months??

Sorry mate, we cannot give out personal advice on the Psych forum. I think your post belongs here, hopefully the Mods here concur. Personally yes people can start over again. Just take things easy, I don't know how long you are on your meds, sometimes they take a while to work, as well as that try find a good therapist.

    Best of luck with it

In a word: yes. It is never too late to "pack it all in" as you put it. I know a number of people who change careers every ten years or so, purely in the intention of adding some variety into their professional lives. Their modis operandi appears to involve working their asses off, saving a fortune and then pissing well off into the southern hemisphere to reap the rewards for as long as it lasts.

As we're all aware of the dire straits of the economy at the moment and forseeable year or two (or three), so if your plan on packing it all in goes arsebackwards then you, much like I, will be highly likely to find yourself unemployed and unable to find any work whatsoever...

So, why not consider emmigrating? What it boils down to is, you're only ever happy or unhappy in life - and thats it, theres no inbetweens. If you're unhappy with everything in your life, then change everything in your life - but dont do it until you know what will make you happy. Packing it all in and heading for mammy and daddys with little to no foresight into what you're going to do long term is a recipe for absolute disaster.

I can empathise with you though. Even though I'm only 23...I'm so sick of this place...and the people...

Definitely man,was only thinkin of this the other night,Life is for living and the best way to enjoy your life is to Live it.If youre not doing what you enjoy at least some of the time and are stuck in a rut, then go for it.
Change what you need to change in order to get your happiness to the level that lets you actually live your life.
You're self employed so clearly you've got skills that you'll have for life and maybe the changes in your life may lead you to be able to still use these skills and allow you to steer you in whatever direction you like.

A quick quote i came across the other night when i was looking for something to inspire my thinking:

Life is not about what I've done, what I should've done, what I could've done... it's about what I can do and what I will do!

I think its never too late for anyone to do anything,so go for what you want and if you want it enough then it will work for you.
