Anyone else getting tired of poor questioning of politicians by RTE presenters?

In particular I refer to Sean O Rourke and the "Week in Politics" He seems to think that his only job is to cut people off if they are able to answer his questions and a good interview is one which the politician can't answer his questions which mostly verge on the pedantic. It seems he enjoys the sport of politics and the baiting of the politicians but that is of little use to most punters.

I have yet to come across decent political interviewers on RTE.

I thought Sean O'Rourke was one of the better ones to be honest.

The worst is Marian 'Friend of Builders and Bankers' Finucane, an insufferable individual at worst, a major elephant in the studio every time an FF politician, 'affable' builder or some 'nice' banker is being asked questions by her.

Second worst is the overbearing Miriam "FF in the Family" O'Callaghan.

I agree with your point overall though. Mind you, just look at who heads the RTE Authority - Mr Terry 'FF contract' Prone, daddy to Anton Savage:

    Utterly vile institution.

Jesus, give me Sean O'Rourke over Sharon 'Savaged by a Dead Sheep' O Bheolain any day.

He does cut interviewees off a fair bit, but neither will he let them off the hook.

Folks, you'd want to be thankful in a way for the grilling politicians get here. I know from watching Spanish and French TV that it's soft soap heaven any time a government minister is on. One (the only?) benefit of the licence fee, I suppose.
