    Hi all,

Im helping out a friend find a place in the city center, sadly he will be working in blanchardstown but doesnt want to live there.

SO as im not familar with commute here, could anyone tell me which bus, if any, goes to Blanchardstown Corporate from Dublin city center and if so how long does it takes?

I have been on the dublin bus website but its too complicated and i rather hear from people knowing about it.

It would be a huge help!

    thanks guys in advance :)

afaik the 38 & 40D are the ones you want to look at.

38's pick up from o'connell st. onwards and the 40D's on parnell st.

from memory, you'd be looking at around 40-60mins for the trip, depending on the time of day & traffic conditions, but its a few years since i've actually taken it so i could be off.

Blanchardstown/D15 is a big a city in it's own right, so it depends on where he will be working what bus or train is best for him to get.

OP said "Blanchardstown Corporate" which I assumed he/she meant "blanchardstown corporate park" which is the one (well, actually two) between ballycoolin business park & tyrrelstown.

    thanks guys,

he will be working at the blanchardstown corporate park....from the sound of it i would say thats the middle of nowhere;-)

So i guess if he wants to live in city center dublin 1 around o'connel would have to be the area really.

40 to 60 mins is a bit long..wow i had no idea, i hope the bus run early in the morning then:(

surely if its a big business area there there must be straight bus route to the city center i would guess:confused:

Blanchardstown Corporate Park is generally served best by the 40D. The 38's sometimes go around that way but don't really drop you near it, rather only near the large roundabout outside.

Not sure how long the commute itself is, the 40D usually going through Finglas South and then taking the back roads by Cappagh Hospital.

I doubt it would take 60 minutes from the city any more, the new road is pretty good so it will only take a few minutes once the 40d is past Finglas.

the only way to be sure is to get up early and take the bus in to where he'd be working at the time he'd normally be going in to see how long it'll take.

It takes about 40/50 minutes.40D is best bet, 38/a only go near there at peak times.

thanks for the replies, really appreciate;)

Yes i think it probably best to take the bus, 40D for a try one morning, the problem i think is that i believe hes gonna have to be at work at 7am..i never take the bus so i dont know but is there bus really leaving that early from city center:confused:

:( sadly just told me its at 6.30 he needs to be at work so i guess it leaves little choice for wanting to live in the city now:( that blows:mad:

the 38 from o'connell st. would be your best bet, it goes past the front entrance.

Might be worth checking with the employer, as some of them run private buses from the city centre for their early starters.
