boiling one of my christas puddings this evening, and the water has boiled off and the base of the bowl melted.

I have put and the pudding in another bowl and put it back on to finish off, but am wondering if this has happpend to anyone else and what the end product was like. If its going to be horrible, would i be better off starting all over again.

Am very annoyed with myself cos i was here doing nothing, forgot to turn it down when it came to the boil.

if it's not burned or has plastic melted into it should be okay - what's it like?
