    Hi,

I have a '96 523i and am looking to trade it in.
It has 130k on the clock, new enough alloys, and works well.

Any ideas how much I could get on a trade in?

    Thanks!

    1500 euro on scrappage.

€1000-€1500 maybe? Dont seem to be going for much more than that on DoneDeal/Carzone.

OP if you could sell it private you would get a better deal than trading it in.

Even if you sold it for 700-900 euro (I know thats cheap) but the garage may give you more money off for a cash deal and hence make it a better deal for you overall.

Someone here may be interested (not me)

Depends what you're trading it in against, might get 10% or so off the screen price of an expensive yoke. It's worth sfa really though as a trade in. Worth slightly more as a private sale if someone interested comes along.

I'm afraid very few dealers will want a 15 year old 6 cylinder petrol car as they will probably have little or no chance of making money from selling it on.

If you are not going to use it as part of a scrappage deal then I'd try advertising it on the free sites, done deal and perhaps an enthusiast site.

Thanks lads, pretty much what I feared. Might try selling for parts.

Might well sell it privately, worth a try
