    Hey everyone,

Just wondering whats the set up you have for your PS3, particularly what would be the best telly ye reckon would be to play on - have just got a ps3 and am playing on an very old 14" portable so gonna spend 300 or 350 or so on a new telly with HD capabilities and just wondering what the rest of ye play on, and if ye've any recommendations?

    Cheers!

Wow, a 14"?! You can't upgrade fast enough so!

If the TV is just for gaming, a HD Ready (720p) TV would be fine, as most games run natively at this resolution and are scaled up when necessary. However, if you're intending on using Blu-Ray, or watching HDTV in the future, I'd probably advise a 100Hz, full HDTV (1080) - but you'll really struggle to find one within your budget.

Personally, I use a Samsung LE32C530. It's slightly over your budget (€380), but it's full HD (1080p). Only 50Hz, not 100, but it you're only gaming, this won't matter at all (games run at 60Hz, which all tv's support). It's also fully compliant with the new Irish digital terrestrial service (Saorview). I can't recommend it enough for gaming, and it's a very good price. Linky.

There is also a HD ready version of that TV, which Powercity do for €330. It's also a pretty good set, and will work with Saorview - but it's not fully compliant as far as I remember (digital teletext won't work).

Some great TV deals going at the minute so shop around!

Im playing on a full HD 40" Samsung with a Samsung surround sound system, does the job! I have a samsung laptop as well and the TV and laptop recognise eachother when you connect, which is a nice bonus! No need to fiddle with settings to get the picture just right :D

Got a lcd hdtv recently, such a difference from playing on the old telly. Now I can read the text on screen without squinting my eyes and leaning in towards the tv :D.

You can get a cheap enough one in PowerCity,

    http://www.powercity.ie/?action=&par=10-12&cat=TV%2C+DVD%2C+CAMERA%2C+COMPUTER+

€299 is probably the cheapest for a 32" TV.

Personally i had a Sony 32" which was excellent, had issues playing CO OP (Splitscreen) with Resident Evil 5. So upgraded to Samsung 47".
    It is awesome !!
I don't have any surround sound yet but its in the pipeline.
