Advice needed- choosing a board

Hi, I'm 5'3, 53kg (I believe thats 117 pounds) and looking for my first board. I was thinking of a minimal 7''-7''4, does that sound about right? Anyway, softboards seem to be the way to go. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What level is your surfing at? Can you catch waves, pop up, turn? If not, it would be worth getting a few lessons first, then talk to instructors or shops about what would be best for you.
