[Discussion] What is the best airsoft gun for 200 euro or less?

This is a question I've been wondering about for a while and would like to hear different people's opinions.
I'm the provisional chairman of an airsoft society me and some other people are trying to start up, and What really got me thinking about this question was what gun is best to recommend to a beginner?
A lot of people don't have guns and for those that want to buy one, what direction should I point them in?
For 200 euro there is a pretty big range; M4,AK47,G36c,MP5,AUG,FAMAS,M14,etc. (I'm sure that I'm forgetting some) as well as numerous bolt action rifles.
Now I know that there's a different gun for everyone but some are better than most (reliability and functionality-wise).
I'm sure this has benn asked before but I'd still like to ask as people might've had different experiences again.
I want to know what you think and what experiences good/bad that you've had with airsoft rifles that cost 200 euro or less.:)

you could approach several retailers for a discount if you can get everybody together with their money and make a bulk order. i know its over €200 but the G&G raiders (€250) are great little perfomers out of the box and ultra reliable.

    +1 on that.
The raiders (basically a M4 with rails, in either black or tan) are more than a match for a lot of other high end aegs. I plowed through a lot of clone aegs before I bought my first G&G (a LR300) and it was (and still is) awesome. I wish I'd saved myself the time and expense and got a raider as my first gun.

Well since the crackdown in China you'll be hard pressed to find a decent gun under €200 nowadays, but shops are geting a small amount of clone guns back in stock so it is possible.

And its not just about the type of gun (M4, AK) its actually more about the manufacturer. But I assume people would still recommend the usually of the JG G36C and the DBoys M4. Although a lot of people have been recommending the G&G Popular range which comes in at just over €200. Or if you could stretch a bit further theres also the G&G Raiders.

I have been hearing good things about G&G the more I read forums and watch reviews.
MidWest airsoft would be the nearest retailer for us and the G&G raider is stocked by them I think.
I'm asking this question now because retailers are starting to source clones again and a lot of affordable guns are showing up again.
I know that the gun model isn't as important as the manufacturer when it comes to quality but some models have some small issues regardless of manufacturer.
I personally got a JG G36c as my first gun because I liked the G36c and it seemed good quality at a low price. I've only got a red dot for it because the iron sights weren't great (and a couple of bipolar low caps:p).
I know that you can get a loan of 300 euro and pay 27-29 euro a month for a year. I might suggest this to those who think it's too expensive to buy airsoft. I think that's a fair budget. And they could have change for camo and accessories.
    Keep the opinions coming.

Raiders by G&G and JG G36s are great, stay well away from Sportlines.

If your looking for cheap cammo's I'd recomend the army surplus shop in Middleton, co. Cork. They are cheap as chips and 99% of the time will give a good discount on bulk orders ( in my experience).

Actually my Uncle owns that shop and the other branch in Killarney. I'm probably going to ask him to get us camo for the team. I love it in there.

The JG is good but I have heard that the SRC is better both aesthetically and in performance.

Don't think they have a website but (021)4633440.

They also have an outlet in Killarney, very reasonable and hard wearing stuff.

He was thinking of a website that would say the store location and give some info, but I don't think he has any plans for showing his stock online. He buys new stock too frequently for that. I'm not sure whether he has someone making one or not.
The shops are easy enough to find. The Killarney branch is on the first floor of the outlet centre.
Midleton branch is in market green shopping centre over by the cinema. There used to be a Murphys world of wonder or something near it but I never pay attention when I walk in.
    To get to the Midleton store;

Coming from Cork city on the N25 (heading towards Waterford) take the first left into Midleton. Drive past the Masda dealer and straight through the traffic lights and past the Ford dealership. Keep driving until there's a Toyota dealership and a petrol station on your right.Take the next left. You'll pass by some houses.Keep driving until you see shops on your right and take the entrance on your right. You are now in Market green.Follow the road and you'll see a block of shops on your left, ARMY SURPLUS is on the corner. You take the second left off that road and that'll bring you into the carpark for ARMY SURPLUS.

Big plus one on the g&g plastica range! They have the exact same gearbox as the high end g&g aeg's and the body is made of an excellent nylon fibre(think that's what its called). I use one of the gearboxes and they are beasts!

Personally I would recommend G36c. The sturdiest airsoft gun in my opinion you will ever old. I had a JG and It was the dogs. I dropped it, fell on it ( It was the quarry, ankle breaker territory) many times and every time she came out smiling. I have had an M4 snap in two before . . . . . . that long barrel can snap easier than you think!

I have the JG G36c as well and I fell on it and it was grand.
I was pinned down under fire and got up to leg it to different cover. But not one, but both of my feet got caught in tree roots just when I got up to turn and run. I fell straight down on the gun and almost broke my two wrists as well. The gun was perfectly fine and so was the red dot sight. The first thing I did was check to make sure my gun was ok. One of my knee pads broke because the manufacturer had placed the plate in upside down :p Bad Quality control there.

I don't think I'll ever get rid of the G36c but might get a better barrel and hop up rubber sometime (Guarder silicon clear). Definitely worth the 170 euros. Thanks MIA.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that GFC just rebrand other companies devices. What AEG are you looking at in particular?
