Check your blind spots

Especially with driving conditions the way they are. Today in Galway a Learner driver with an instructor merged into my lane forcing me to slam on the breaks missing me by literally inches. I wouldn't mind but my lane was for turning left and she went straight on. So dont forget to check your blind spots if your out and about.

It's one thing about the learner but that's very bad form for the instructor. My ADI would have never let me get away with something like that!

I to would say the instructer has to take some account for that, should have never allowed the pupil to pull out.

This was hardly the quinn bridge/newcastle road junction was it? I've had that happen to me before, and it wasnt by a L driver either. People move over too quickly / dont pay attention to whats around them....

No but it was close by. At the Junction where the hospital and the Tesco express is. There is two lanes one for turning left and the other fro straight on and turning right. I think there was a few cars in front of her turning right so she was going around them by merging into my lane.

Always check your blind spots when changing lanes. if you dont check your blind spots in the test you will get a grade 2 mark

    Or a Grade 3, depending.

I think the experienced drivers should allow for learner drivers.

As an instructor, you can tell the learner to do something like check blind-spots and then move into lane if clear BUT "they can just dive into lane"; this happens.

This is something the instructor should be careful and aware of, but experienced drivers don't normally behave when the see learner drivers in front of them. So I hope you reacted in a manner which did not add to the bad driving conducted buy the learner.

    SO!
    Learners please check your blind-spots.
Experienced drivers please allow for the learner driver.
    "We all have to learn"!

I agree with most of the points that have been made. Another point to consider is, it may have been a driving test.
