DealExtreme is always great for silly gadgets and the likes. Is he into photography maybe something like this or a USB plasma ball (Have one myself!). Problem is if its for xmas it may be too late for delivery as dealextreme ships from hong kong and it can take up to 3 weeks other times of the year
