Just wondering if theres anyway to output through HDMI and Component at the same time, or theres an easy way to switch between HDMI and Component, preferably without having to exit the PS3 game e.g using a cable splitter?

    Thanks in advance,
    apc

what are you trying to do?
    The answer can vary ;)

Anyways - you can definitely not display to both from the PS3. You must choose 1 or other.
However, you can display HDMI and then split that into 2 outputs via a HDMI splitter. Then take one of the outputs and use something like a HD Fury to convert it into component.

Basically im running an HDMI cable from the living room, which has an HD TV, to the playroom, where I have a PS3 and an SD TV, so I can switch between the two tvs without having to move the playstation. HD Fury would be perfect except for the price :(

While the cable will be fine for a normal length between 2 places in a house the Bluetooth will have a problem dependant on the walls between them. If you only want to play a Blu-ray and start it then move into the other room you'll be ok but playing any games will not work well.

Do you plan to play games or use a controller continuously while in use.
