Good RPG on iPhone?

    Hey.

    I'm looking for an RPG to play on my iphone. The problem is I'm kinda fussy.

    Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

    I like Japanese/Korean retro RPGs, but I don't like anything too cute.

    I also can not stand Final Fantasy style music (pseudo orchestral John Williams style stuff)

    I like a good story with a bit of depth and credibility (within reason). Nothing with chocobos or evil mutant strawberries.

    Action, romance, and a hint of Apocalypse is always good.

    RPGs I like:
    Phantasy Star 1/2/4 (Sega)
    Chrono Trigger (Nintendo)
    Buck Rogers (Sega)
    Bladerunner (PC)

    RPGs I dislike:
    Zelda
    Final Fantasy 1-33

    I don't usually like that cutesy Zelda stuff, but it looks like "Zenonia" might be an option.

    "Vay" looks like it might be my sort of thing, being similar to Phantasy Star, but I can't get over the huge feet in the battle screen!

    I wish I could wipe my own memory and play Phantasy Star II for the first time, over and over again. :(

    Definatly try Chaos Rings its probably the best rpg on the app store

    Zenonia is decent.

    Direction controls can take some getting used to though.

    Funny, I was thinking of starting this thread yesterday...
    ChuChu rocket and Angry Bird are great and all, but I'd love a decent RPG to keep me occupied on the way to work!

    Just took the plunge and bought Chaos Rings (price is a bit fecking steep!!!) and grabbed the free versions of Zenonia 1 & 2
    Thanks for the recommendations, even if they weren't meant for me ^_^

    Ash was free during the week (back to €3.99 now though)
    Read the reviews on the app store and see what you think.

    I'm playing Ash now (got it while it was free) and it seems pretty good.

    Thanks for all the replies.

    Chaos Rings looks cool, but definitely very Final Fantasy.

    I bought Zenonia, and so far, it's ok. Beautiful graphics and sound, but maybe a bit too cute.

    I didn't know about Ash until this thread. Looks promising. Might check it out!

    Well, Im gonna buy Ash.

    Zenonia is definitely not my thing.
