To turn up the screen brightness on my laptop I usually hold down Fn and the brightness key. Now this key is broken for some reason which i'll have to fix sometime.
Is there another way to turn up brightness from any other menu within the system?
I use vista. I am squinting my eyes right now reading and writing this!
    Thanks.

Can't see any option in there to actually turn up screen brightness.
    Hope I'm not missing something?

Display after personalization should be in there, then go into adjust screen brightness and in there go to change plan settings

http://www.entechtaiwan.com/util/ps.shtm download install this ,adjust gamma in settings tab, gamma =brightness level,
or rightclick desktop ,graphics propertys, advanced, what is the pc model and graphics card you have.
or try f8,safe mode, vga mode.

    Clues please

    What brand of laptop ?
    what model ?

Which operating system are you using ?
    Which version ?

Have you installed the manufacturers drivers for screen ?

At a guess you are using windows, check power settings in control panel, you may be able to set brighness to the MAX in there (it's a workaround)

Its safe to say you mean the backlight brightness, for this, click on your battery indicator. Then go to battery profiles and there somewhere should be sliders or settings for brightness.
