    Hello everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone could answer the following question for me.

I am living in a rented apartment in a large complex that is looked after by a large management company.

We have had a lot of problems with our neighbours, they are inconsiderate and very very noisy. They have has parties and are very noisy until about 1-2am moving furniture on their wooden floors. They have caused my toddler son to wake terrified at night with the noise and they have forced myself and my housemate to stay up until they go to bed, even though he is up at 6.30 for college every morning. We are quiet enough. Obviously a child can be loud, but he does not wake until around 7am and they are normally up making noise by then themselves.

We have tried to talk to them nicely, saying that they probably did not realise how loud the noise is to us, they answered by saying they bought their apartment in the boom, so why should they care.

I have been in contact with the Management Company alot with regards this. I stated every time they have been exceptionally bad and how it has caused all of my household to be exhausted! I went on anti-anxiety medication for a while do to the stress and sleep deprivation because of it AND my housemate has to sleep with earplugs in his ears!

The management company said they have contacted the owner and that he says there is no noise from it and that none of our neighbours have confirmed this when they rang them, there are a few problems with this statement.

1 - It is a lesbian couple in that apartment. So where is the so called man, they have stated more than once they bought it themselves!?!?!

2 - Our next door neighbours have had the exact same problem, but when I asked them had they been contacted by the management company they said no.

3 - They did not fine them for the party as is the rules of the complex and the Gardai were called.

So can I send a solicitors letter to either party, do I have any legal standing at all?

I cannot afford to move. The cost of getting a months rent up front again, and getting the deposit back for this place will be both time consuming and stressful. Plus we love this complex, it is clean, child friendly and located near everything we need!

Thanks for all replies. Sorry for the long post!
