Newbie to Surround Sound Help

Hi,

I'm a newbie to surround sound systems and I'm just looking for recommendations on getting one.

I have a Sky+ HD box, a Blu-ray player (this one) and this TV

I would like both the Sky box and the Blu-ray player to have surround sound.

I'm not really sure what budget I have at the moment as I'm not really sure whats out there. Would someone be able to point me in the right direction as to what are the possibilities?

You really need to specify a budget if you are expecting to get any advice.

You could spend any amount from a couple of hundred up to many thousands, also do you want small lifestyle speakers or big floorstanders or something in between.

As moolers says, you need to give us more details...re budget, room size and constraints in terms of wiring there or not, surround set-up (wired v "wireless"), female friendly requirements (what u think is cool and acceptable , she may not:eek:)

Im in the same situation.
I have a PS3, Normal Sky Box and this TV:

I want the Sky and the PS3 to have Surround Sound.
I want 5.1, as the speaker wires are already in place.

I have a max budget of 250€.
Preferably hope to get it in a shop, Currys, Argos etc.
( Can go up north for it also btw)

I wouldnt also mind a way to hook my iPod up to the speakers? do most speakers come with a 3.5mm port?

I like the LG one, Mainly Because Its the Same Brand ( As TV) And i know it has a Audio In(for ipod) and It Prices Of Course!
