Tights for this dress?

I have a dress that is a similar colour to the one below. The dress is a different shape/style. It's longer and not off the shoulder. I might wear it to a christmas party but will need to wear tights with it. I will be wearing black shoes. Any idea what tights I should go for?

You could certainly go with black opaques works fine with that style and colour, imho. Or otherwise nude ones not too shiny, like Wolford 9 deniers if you've the money, or Aristoc 10 denier Ultra Matt would be great. ALso M&S do 7denier matt ones that are very similar and tend to be a few euro cheaper.

Would pink/purple tights look good with it? I'm in to contrasting tights at the moment... but perhaps the dress is too delicate for that.

Grey tights maybe? A dark grey would be lovely if you had shoes the same colour as the dress? But If you're going with black shoes then black/nude tights is probably the safest bet... def wouldn't go with pink or purple, the dress is far too delicate for them

contrast would be really nice, and I think these in "dark grape" would be a really nice contrasting colour.

Oh yes - Agree on Dark Grey saw that in a magazine over weekend, looked great with that colour. Would depend a bit on the shoes.

That dark purple would go nicely - but a bright purple might make people look at your legs not the lovely dress! Likewise with pink I'd think, but you never know I suppose.

Can you bring dress with you when shopping so you can hold them together?

Something similar to the tights on the link below. The dress is not the dress in my original post but it is a similar colour but more delicate. I thought anything heavier wouldn't have looked right!

What do you think? I still have time to buy different tights.

I think heavey purple tights would look too heavey with the dress. It is silk (a summer dress really) and I think it would look odd. If the dress was a heavier material it could work but not with silk.
