Does anyone know what the story with this error is?

I have cookies enabled, no exceptions or anything. I jues tstarted getting this error yesterday.

Doesn't seem to be effecting everyone, only some people.

I've had that error since last night though and a guy I know was able to get into his 30 mins ago. Would it not be down for everyone?

I really don't get why they switched to Google Apps yet kept the requirement to sign in via the DCU LDAP servers...

I think this is only affecting people trying to sign in since yesterday, anyone already logged in is fine.

Strangely my mail is still being forwarded to my personal account like I set it up as but I just cant access the DCU account itself, which I would have already been logged into...

Yea, there's no problem with the mail itself at all, the only problem is that the LDAP servers are being a bitch and thus not allowing you to log in on the web, thus locking you out until they fix it unless you forward it or use an e-mail client.

And to note, I had to restart Chrome and now I can't get in either.

Nah the LDAP servers were definitely working earlier.
I'm pretty sure the portal page and moodle both use LDAP for login info and they both worked too.

If they handed off the passwords to Google, it wouldn't be possible (or at least simple) to synchronise usernames and passwords.

Just have you dcu mail forward to your normal e-mail.
Then you don't have to worry about logging into web mail.

I just wish that they would at least give some sort of backup login via a standard GMail login screen in the event that the DCU servers are malfunctioning and you can't sign in via the SSO API that Google provides for Education Apps accounts.

Then again since I'm not a domain administrator for an Apps for Education account (only a standard GApps account) I'm not sure whether such a service would be possible.
