If you feel like it, book them into a hotel (like this, for example) on your credit card, or theirs ideally. Hang on to ALL receipts. You may or may not get refunds. Check their travel insurance documentation as well.

Thats the problem - All the contact numbers are just automated. Im going to suggest that he tells all the other passengers to go find a hotel, pay for it, and keep the receipts - also to find ferries to Lanzarote and keep the receipts too - problem is - they may not have all of their luggage

This is all the aer lingus website can offer - None of the passengers have their luggage

Go to the Swissport desk at the airport. They're the handlers on the Canary Islands for the airline.
There is an ATC strike on at the moment so its gone haywire in Spanish airspace and ports.

Did they just book flights ie.already have accomodation on Lanza? Or are they on a package? If on a package, then contact the travel company concerned.

They can book a ferry to Lanza and charge the airline back with expenses since their flight was effectively cancelled. In the meantime, you could contact Aer Lingus in Dublin airport for them.
