NCT re- test

    hi everyone

    car failed the the nct just due to a drivers side ball joint being worn, getting it fixed monday and re test is a week later. my question is, will they only re test the failed part or will they test the whole car again???

    thanks for any help

    if you are going for a retest, they only check the bits that failed the original test afaik

    Depending on how much of the test was completed, there may well be other things to test.

    Did they tell you that the ball-joint bushing being worn meant that they couldn't carry out a related part of the NCT?

    For example, my headlights were out of alignment. So they told me that they did not test the indicators, brake lights etc. When I went back for the retest, they tested all the lights then.
