    Hi Everyone

This is my first time using the boards. I have just had a knee op recently and I am just about to start running again - I am off to buy a new pair of runners today and was wondering could anyone one tell me the best ones to buy - ones with the best support etc.

    Hi MJPL,

welcome to the forum. Any individual looking for the most suitable runner should attend a decent running store (as opposed to one of the "fashion" sports stores), where the assistant knows what they are talking about. One that does gait analysis would be better still, that will help recommend a shoe to suit your running style. Check out this thread for locations.

I'm pretty sure that my gait changed slightly between busting a knee skiing and running again afterwards. But I hadn't gone along to get it re-analysed again before starting running again and I suspect that paid a part in me then getting a stress fracture. It doesn't cost you anything to go along to a proper shop to buy your shoes and get a pair that are right for you.

There is no such thing as the best running shoe.
