Low fps ?

I am going to get a second hand A&K masada but it's fps is only around 280, does anyone have any ideas as too why it's so low and what I can do to fix it.

If it's secondhand it may be that there are airleaks, cylinder and piston may need to be greased up to tighten up the airseals. After that maybe a new 1J spring, or new hop rubber if thats damaged. Do you know has the cylinder or nozzle been drilled out to downgrade it? Some retailers carry out this practise even though it's not the ideal solution.
Going airsofting now so won't be able to reply till this evening...

If I remember correctly, the A&K Masada was shooting at about 280 out of the box and didn't require downgrading. Have you actually used the gun ? You might find that with a decent hopup, the range will be fine.

Don't forget, Marui guns all shoot at about 280 as standard, and their range is often superior to guns shooting just under the 328 limit. FPS isn't that big a deal when it comes to range.

Tony is right, they came out of the box with between 280-290fps

thats still a respectable fps figure and with a good hop up rubber itll be up there on range with the best of them

Thanks, I was just a bit worried because the lowest fps in a gun i've ever had is 300 for some reason
