I've searched for threads within the forum on the specific subject of marrying in Feurteventura, but to no avail. Correct me if I'm wrong.. you can lead me in the right direction.

    Ok, nitty gritty..

My fiance and I plan to marry in Feurteventura, October/November 2011. We have explored the idea of a non religious wedding (humanist) but that would entail that we get married civilly before we go over, which to me defeats the purpose. We are now of the thinking that we have a religious wedding. I'm Catholic and he's Protestant, he has no objections to marrying in to the Catholic faith, and as far as I'm aware, all we would need is a letter of freedom from our local parish priest (catholic). Looking on websites, it would seem that we would have to be civilly married for me to marry into his faith, answers on a postcard please?

With regard to a venue, without spending a fortune, we are looking for a small venue to perhaps house up to 80 guests. I'm finding it very hard to find venues online that could cater for a small wedding. Anyone know of places to look out for?

Now I realise that the only way to know is to go out there, but for the moment, neither of us can travel until a few weeks into the new year. I'd be interested to know if anyone has been married on the island and what they did to achieve this.

I'm starting to think that we were happy in our ignorance of co-habiting, why did we set a date!!

    Please help!
