Xmas Party Dress HELP!

Hi guys, need some help here. I'm a size 14 quite a large bust, teeny waist and curvy hips. A kinda 'fat' hourglass figure! Thing is I just can't find a dress for work xmas party. I don't want to show all my colleagues the ladies, but I can't wear anything too high necked cos it makes me look huge. I also won't wear anything shorter than just over my knees. I just don't have the confidence for that. I still don't want to look older than my years and wanna be a bit glam cos my job is very casual clothes and no make up and I look like s*hit most days. Just wanna show them I can be pretty!

    Any suggestions much appreciated

    Hi,

    I'm a size 14 with a 36 D bust.

I bought a dress in Penney's that fits perfectly. I don't have a photo of it, but its strapless with a jagged neckline and a dark blue colour in a silky material. It was only E17 and it is actually very flattering.

Thanks a million Dinkie but I'm a 34GG and can't go strapless or I look like my Granny!

I got a dress like this in Oasis recently - exact same style, but different pattern on top:

I'd normally never try anything like this on, but I was amazed - it gives such good shape. The neck isn't as high as it looks in the picture, I'd usually run away from anything that doesn't have a scoop/v-neck but this is really flattering. I completely agree with you about us bigger-boobed ladies wearing high necks - very, very unflattering. Makes me look like I've got a "bosom" instead of boobs!

I've got this dress for my graduation, I'm a similar shape to you (a little smaller though - size 12 and a 34DD up top) and it looks great on. Sounds like it might suit you too.

both very good suggestions! Thanks girls. I'm off to Whitewater tomorrow!

i love the Oasis one but i'd say i'd need some very good control pants! Purple one is just divine. would have to try on for def cos it could be very booby

The Oasis one is quite heavy material so it does hold in your tummy. I'm going to wear mine with a yummy tummie slip under it for that extra bit of flattening!
