My Audi A4 2005 (Newer Model) would not start on Wednesday moring. Left it and after work tried again and did start, did the usual drive but following morning dead again. Took battery reading thiis evening and it was very poor only 5.4V . Reckon the battery iis a dead duck. So thren tried a jump start from fathers car but would not even turn. Hazard lights flashed and the alarm went off but no cranking from starter motor at all. Nothing at all after initial lights flashing etc. Connections were made by the book. !
Anyone got any experience of this as if I could get it to a garage could have new battery put in. For info just try removing the battery from this car, its held in by Allen keyclam in the most in accessible place. ( not meant to be removed by mormal punter ! )
Any advise of help greatfully received as being without the transport is a pain in the a??. WOULD A POWER PACK START IT FOR ME. ??
Is a dead battery going to cause all sorts of problems whenthe power is restored. ??
    Thanks again

If the battery is so dead you have to charge it with jump leads for 10-15 minutes at least before theres any chance that theres enough power to turn the starter motor.
So can you get it out for replacement ? If yes, do so :)

Thanks for reply, I thought having a jump start meant one could do a start on the spot with no waiting as using alternative battery power. ??

Unfortunately not. And if the battery is totally dead, even that wont help i described above. But try first

out of curiousity, are you living in a region where night time would be seeing around -10C or less?

Probably was down in that region on those nights.
I Just seen something on the www about possibility when alarm went off that immobilizer feature was tripped and would need to be reset.
Anyone got any idea if this can be done with the car keys. ???

Its a strange one and I wonder if I purchase a new battery could I still be left unable to start the car having spent over €120. ?
Still searching the WWW for possible solutions/
    Thanks to al who replied.
