    Link from the BBC
Widnes, Halifax and Barrow have met the deadline to submit bids for a three-year Super League Licence.

The trio are competing for a place in Super League starting from 2012.

The RFL have made it clear that at least one Championship club will be awarded a Super League licence, provided they meet certain criteria.

The criteria include a stadium capacity of at least 10,000, turnover of at least £1m and no insolvency during the last three years.

Featherstone and Batley, who had also been in contention, elected not to submit an application.

Anyone know would one current team definitely lose their franchise or are there plans to expand the league? I think a bigger league with change in fixture schedule, bye weeks etc. would be great and might shake up the bottom of the Super League a bit!!

Would they be keen to widen the league further North with Barrow? Any of the 3 teams would be a good addition to the league (but not at the expense of southern expansion ;):o )
