Can't take much more of the dreadmill - has anyone any idea as to where is reasonably safe, surface wise in NCD? I guess it's gonna be one of the parks or footy pitches .....Lusk/Malahide/Skerries area will do just fine ....

Malahide Castle is nice. The path connecting Porto to Malahide along the coast is also an option, you can take in some of the beach for this one too. I try not to venture past Malahide if I can avoid it :p

Try St Annes Park. The areas surrounded by trees are your best bet. We trained there last year and still managed to get our sessions, no snowfall at all in the sheltered parts.

+1 For Malahide Castle. Injured at the mo. but used it regularly last year during the snow.
You could also try Dollymount beach

Thanks for the replies. Actually been a fairly decent thaw today in Lusk, hopefully won't be too bad in the morning....

Looking pretty icy around Balbriggan area. If you find somewhere Id love to hear. I usually run in Skerries but from what I hear its really icy also. Go away icy conditions!!

Ardgillan Castle is good too, great for hill training... however impossible to get to at the moment. Last year i managed to get out around balbriggan along the outer relief road but this time round its impossible. I usually run along the grass verge.

Live in Lusk there myself but head to Malahide park for training. Its not too far and fine running on the grass. Really lovely at the moment with the snow but very runable.

Ran around Swords Park last night (staying off the slippy roads at the moment). There was enough reflective light from the street / snow to make it OK. Doing another 3 miles there tonight...

Cant run Malahide park at night as it closed, and anyway way to dark.

Ah dont be a wimp-lots of runners brave the dark there. You get used to it and with the snow at the minute its even easier. closes at 615pm
