Can you do this if the buses have stopped running in your area? Some guy said this to me yesterday, he put his Travel 90 card through and it worked...when I try it of course it doesn't work and I have to fork out the ridiculous €8 charge for a return ticket.

Bus tickets were valid on Irish Rail when the buses stopped.
