Baby oil to keep ice/snow off?

    Ok, here's one for you:
Chatting to a few lads at work about the problem with snow and ice sitting on the car in the mornings.
One guy suggested that you wipe the car down with baby oil, just a minute layer, and this would keep the ice off or at least keep it from sticking to the car.
Apparently it doesn't freeze and then there a layer between paint and ice.

Not the windows now, just the body/bonnet/boot/roof.
    Could it work?
    Will baby oil damage paint/metallic?

I've heard this before alright from a guy I used to work with, but wasn't really convinced and thought he was taking the piss really.

Give it a try there and tell us how you get on tomorrow :)

Imagine the mess it would create when you go to wash your car next time? Also, if this got on the treads of your tyres, you may find it even harder to keep control! It's oil afterall ;)

It would hardly be endorsed by Hooters if it ate through paint, now would it? :D

I'd be more worried about a different kind of mess being made if I seen a guy putting a type lube all over his car :p

I might try and do the wd40 thing on my door seals.

I don't have any baby oil but if I remember to get some I'll give the boot only a wipe and see if there's a difference.
    Stay tuned.

This works best when applied by women in bikinis.
