Serena Williams Withdraws from Australian Open

    Serena Williams won't be defending her Aussie title next year due to her foot injury: http://www.australianopen.com/en_AU/news/articles/2010-11-25/201011251290649977228.html?fpos=r2

    She's been out of action since July when she stepped on broken glass in a restaurant. Must have been a serious injury if it requires a second surgery and rehabilitation.
    Huge disappointment for Serena and the fans. She's a huge draw to any tournament she plays in!

    She has also withdrawn from Hopman Cup.

    No indication as to when she'll be back.
